Benefits of a well-organised damage history

Updated: 21 August 2026

Every instance of damage reported by a driver in the Navifleet system can be given an appropriate status. Once the claim has been settled, simply update this status; you can do so in 3 quick ways. Only the Administrator and Moderator +can change the status of damage.

Why manage damage statuses?

This way:

  • only current damage is visible on the vehicle report,

  • the vehicle history contains full information about damage reported and settled,

  • the data in the system matches the actual state of affairs,

  • reports are short and clear, which makes it easier for drivers to sign them.

3 ways to manage a damage status

Method I - Inspections

  1. Go to the Inspections tab in the menu on the left.

  2. Then go to the Damagesection.

  3. Select the damage whose status you want to change.

  4. Click Edit on the right or double-click the Statusfield.

  5. Change the damage status.

Managing damage details

In the Damage details panel you can:

  • change the status of the damaged part,

  • add a description of the repairs carried out or the actions to be taken,

  • fill in the motor insurance claim details (e.g. claim number),

  • specify the type of damage (partial / total),

  • indicate how the damage is covered:
Comprehensive, Comprehensive with recourse, Assistance, Invoice, Third-party liability of the party at fault, Own third-party liability or Glass.

How to change a damage status?

  1. Go to the vehicle details.

  2. Open the Damagetab.

  3. Select the report.

  4. Change the status from New to the chosen option:

  • Not repairing

  • Reported for settlement

  • Being settled

  • To be settled

  • Settled

Status To be settled and Settled

Damage with these statuses is not displayed when drawing up a vehicle handover report or an inspection.
