Continuing a journey when the GPS device (ZSL/OBU) fails

Updated: 3 July 2023

This article describes what a driver should do when problems occur with the operation of the GPS device (OBU/ZSL).

When to use the emergency procedure?

Use the emergency procedure when you are informed of a problem with data transmission.

On an OBU, the problem is signalled by an LED or an audible signal. Description of the signals on the OBU device.

On a ZSL, this is a notification (PUSH or SMS) from the Navifleet system and a signal from an LED, which is fitted optionally.

If your GPS device has stopped working, you can continue the journey by switching to the mobile app. This method is very quick, provided that the initial configuration was carried out earlier. To do this, simply activate the mobile app on the vehicle. The faulty GPS tracker will be deactivated automatically.

See how to switch to the mobile app.
